Anyone with a desire to learn identification of local species who can commit to monitoring a Shorekeepers' project for three consecutive summers. |

| About the Surveying and Mapping Course |

|
It is a practical, hands-on training, the majority of which will take place on the beach. There is, however, the requirement for a certain amount of theory and background knowledge. |
|
It is geared to approximately the grade 10 level in terms of mathematics and science ability. | |
All concepts are taught from a "common sense" perspective and all techniques and requirements include a "why" component. | |
The course can be adapted to fit time availability (2 weekends, or 4 consecutive days) and can be adapted to be taught in various settings. |
