The Shorekeepers' database is an important part of Shorekeepers. The database is the storehouse where you put the data that you have collected on a survey. It is also a powerful reporting tool with which you can produce summary reports about the results of your surveys. You can
then present these to your group and your community. |
The database is easy to use. Each screen has an easy to understand menu. The data entry screens look exactly like the field data sheets so there is no confusion about where to enter data. Module 2 of the Shorekeepers' Guide contains the users guide. |
Although the database is designed to be easy to use, there will be a short course available as part of the Shorekeeper Training that is devoted to the use of the database. |
DFO will maintain the central database with the data from your survey and all other surveys on the coast. You can request copies of the data collected by your/other group from DFO representatives. |
